Look Up

People these days.
We’re a new and modern generation
With new technology.
Phones, and tablets
Speakers and headsets
Social media
Wi-Fi, and the internet.
So many things that virtually everyone has now.

Nobody is ever bored for long anymore,
When all they can do is grab their phone,
And scroll through social media,
Or perhaps watch a video.

But even without technology,
We’re oblivious to our surroundings,
And instead, we focus on ourselves,
Our hair, or the buttons on our coat.
We even play with the little things in our bag,
Just to keep ourselves focused and entertained.

Nobody looks up anymore.
No one looks up just for the sake of it
To just appreciate being here
Enjoying themselves.

It’s important to look up,
To take in the surroundings,
To bask in the sunlight,
To bask in the nature, or city life you’re currently in.

It’s important to breathe the air
To feel the breeze
To hear your surroundings
For just one moment,
To look up to the sky and just be.

I think, that it is important to look up.
